I wanted to ensure that all of my products were fun and nicely designed but at the same time sustainable and friendy to the planet.
So my paper products, including those in the kids' party bags collection, are made using two types of paper.
Seeded Paper
This is a biodegradable eco-paper made with recycled and sustainably sourced materials - residual cotton from the textile industry, which has been embedded with seeds. When the paper is planted and the paper composts away all that will be left behind is wild flowers or vegetables.
Elephant Poo Paper
Ellie Poo paper is manufactured from 75% UK post consumer waste and 25% dung, from an Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand. The poo paper people I buy from plough the profits back into helping the elephants and the sanctuary.
The paper itself is treated using non-chlorine methods to remove all bacteria, and is manufactured in Hemel Hempstead,using the heritage steam-driven Fourdrinier machine at Frogmore Mill: the worlds first mechanised paper-making machine dating back to 1895, and still in use today.
The paper is safe, odourless and hygienic.
